In an effort to reduce costs and our impact on the environment, NWA Head Start uses a "paperless" application process. To begin the pre-application process, please click the appropriate link (English or Spanish) and fill out the resulting form. If you need assistance please call one of our locations or our Central Office and our staff will be happy to assist you. We can e-mail a copy of the application or complete one over the phone with you.

Children from 6 weeks to age five are categorically eligible for Early Head Start/Head Start if:
● In foster care
● Recipient of public assistance (SNAP, TANF or SSI).
TANF-funded programs in Arkansas include TEA, Work Pays, Career Pathways, and Community Investment Initiative programs.
A child from age 6 weeks to age five is income eligible for Early Head Start/Head Start if the family's income is determined to be below the income figures published annually by the federal government as the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
A pregnant woman is income eligible for Early Head Start Pregnant Woman Program if homeless, in foster care, or the recipient of public assistance (SNAP, TANF or SSI). TANF funded programs in Arkansas include TEA, Work Pays, Career Pathways, and Community Investment Initiative programs.
Documents Required for Eligibility:
Proof of Birth (signed hospital or state certificate)
Proof of Residence (submit one of the following)
A current real estate property tax receipt
The current utility bill shows the name and address of the student’s parent or legal guardian.
A rental or lease agreement showing the name and address of the student’s parent or legal guardian.
A current utility bill from a utility company showing the name and address of the parent or legal guardian.

Immunization Record or Immunization Exempt State Letter
Proof of Income for each parent/guardian in the home (submit one of the following)
Check Stubs
(12 months’ worth of consecutive check stubs starting from a month before application)
Tax Documents (Form 1040)
Child Support (proof of two consecutive payments)
School Financial Aid
SNAP (acceptance letter or copy of SNAP Card)
Other
