We are a non-profit organization committed to helping ones in need. We assist in various areas that the government and other organizations can not because we receive no government money. This way we are able to apply monies in most any area and toward any situation that might arise in Benton County.
Our volunteers and staff work hard to provide assistance to people of all walks of life. Our volunteers work in the Food Pantry, where we give out 40-45 bags daily feeding between 80 and 160 people each day. Volunteers also help man our thrift store by helping at the cash registers, stocking the sales floor, helping out customers and maintaining its exceptionally clean appearance.
Our thrift store came to be, out of necessity for a local organization to assist those who have come to be in need in this county. Donors like you give of their household items like clothing & furniture, electronic, etc. for our thrift store to sell at a reasonable price. It is these donations that generate funds to help this community. In 1976 our neighbors came to the rescue by donating good quality merchandise. In that year we were able to assist those in need with a total of $760.00. Compare that number to the 1.8 million dollars in assistance we gave in 2007 and you’ll see that the generosity that started our company is still alive and growing every day.
Since coming to the aid of our neighbors in 1976 by becoming a Helping Hand themselves, through donations, contributions, purchases and their kind words, our neighbors have assisted Helping Hands in its continued growth and provisions for the needs of Benton County. Since 2001 we have given more than one million dollars in aid each of the past six years.
Our goal is to continue to meet the needs of the people of this county, but we can only do that with the continued support of our community and volunteers.
